Creating a Desktop Icon

NOTE: Due to the ever-increasing compatibility problems with newer printers and newer versions of Windows it is strongly recommended that you upgrade to one of the Windows versions of The THERAPIST. To start The THERAPIST from the Windows desktop you will need to place an icon on the desktop as the program does not do this for you during the installation process.

To place an icon on the desktop:

Open Windows Explorer (Not Internet Explorer). This program is usually located in:

Start > Programs > Accessories

If you cannot find it there, right click the Start button and choose Explore from the popup menu. Open explorer to

My Computer > Local Disk C: > Therapy3

Highlight the Therapy3 folder. On the right side of the screen, locate the Th95 file. Right click on this file and select Create Shortcut from the popup menu. This will create a shortcut named "Shortcut to Th95." You can rename it to "The THERAPIST" if you wish. Left click and drag the shortcut to one of the following:

  • Drop the shortcut on the word Desktop at the top of the Explorer screen in the left side column
  • Drop the shortcut on the desktop itself if it is visible.
  • Drop the shortcut on the Start button.
  • Drop the shortcut on the speed bar usually found at the bottom of the screen.

Close Explorer. The shortcut for The THERAPIST should now exist wherever you dropped it.
