Printer
Compatibility
This document lists printers that are known to work as well as those
printers which are known to have problems printing from DOS applications.
This list may grow as new printers are discovered. When looking for a
new printer that you want to be compatible with DOS programs, look carefully
at the printer box. Any printer which has "For Windows" or "Windows
Only" written on the box is immediately suspect. If the box says
for Windows 95/98/NT, it usually means that it is a "Windows Only"
printer.
Due to the ever-increasing compatibility problems with newer printers
and newer versions of Windows it is strongly recommended that you upgrade
to one of the Windows versions of The THERAPIST. Check out the comparison
page to see what is the same and what is different. You can also download
a free evaluation of either The THERAPIST EZ
or The THERAPIST Pro or contact
customer service to free evaluation CD.
| NOTE: |
This list is not updated with new information. It contains the best
information available as of January 2003. |
DOS Compatible Printers
This list is only based on those models with which we have experience.
If you are in the market for a new printer we would suggest some of the
following makes and models for use with The THERAPIST for DOS. If
you can not find one of these models, then we would suggest finding a
printer, which emulates one of these.

Partially Compatible Printers
Many new printers are designed to print only from Windows applications.
The THERAPIST includes a utility called WinPrint, which allows it
to work with some Windows printers. These printers will print, but you
may not have complete control of margins and other printer features needed
to print onto HCFA-1500 forms. Some of these printers may eject an extra
sheet of paper after each print job.
