The THERAPIST Class Schedule
The class structure will be an interactive lecture-style presentation. Individual computers will not be provided. You can bring a laptop computer if you want to follow along using your own data and client information. Electrical power and high-speed internet are available. What About The THERAPIST EZ?Sorry, but at this time, no class is scheduled for The THERAPIST EZ. Tourism OpportunitiesCorvallis is a small college town (Oregon State University, go Beavers!) on the Willamette (sort of rhymes with Salmon) River in the Willamette Valley. We are centrally located within an hour drive from a variety of interesting places to visit. The scenic Oregon Coast is an hour to the west through the coast mountain range. Visit light houses, beaches, a string of interesting towns and the Tillamook cheese factory. To the east you'll find the Cascade mountain range, a series of volcanic peaks that stretches from California to British Columbia including what is left of Mt. St. Helens. On a clear day, you can see as many as four snow-capped volcanoes from downtown Corvallis. The Oregon Garden is a popular spot to visit. Only a couple of years old, it plans to rival the Bucthart Gardens in Victoria, BC and is well on its way toward that goal. Visit Silver Falls State Park and you can actually walk behind a breathtaking 170 foot waterfall, just one of the ten spectacular falls in this park. A short drive north to McMinnville will take you to the Evergreen Aviation Museum where you can see the enormous Spruce Goose as well as a replica of the Wright Brothers 1903 Flyer, an SR-71 Blackbird spy plane and many, many classic civilian and military aircraft. There's even a Russian manned spacecraft. The Willamette valley is also home to many fine Oregon Wineries. You can take a self-guided tour as most wineries are open for visitors. If you want really special experience, visit Crater Lake National Park, about a three hour drive south. Crater Lake is widely known for its intense blue color and spectacular views. The lake is in the 6 mile wide caldera which was created by the eruption and collapse of Mt. Mazama about 7,000 years ago. Due to the high snow fall (averaging 533 inches per year), the park is only open during the summer. |
